Due to subsidence in part of ‘Tenango del Valle- Ixtapan de la Sal’ motorway, a geophysical study was carried out using seismic refraction and electric tomography on the side of each part of the motorway and in its centre in order to explore the compactness of the materials in the affected areas, as well as their distribution and resistivity.

By these studies, weak areas in the roadway were found, caused by seepage and retention of water in the subsoil.
