‘Oaxaca – Tehuantepec’ motorway, México
A stretch of ‘Oaxaca – Tehuantepec’ motorway was affected by a sequence of listric faults which caused ground displacement and severe damage in the roadway, where the asphalt was lifted up to 5 meters.
A geophysical exploration was carried out using electrical tomography, seismic refraction and vertical electrical sounding in order to determine the seismic and electrical characteristics of the zone and detect the geological contacts, zones of interest for direct exploration and approaches towards the displacement of the motorway stretch.
